April 29, 2002 - Macromedia, Inc. today announced Macromedia Dreamweaver MX, the latest version of their market-leading web development tool. Dreamweaver MX offers powerful integration with TopStyle Pro, enabling TopStyle customers to rely on TopStyle's extensive support for style sheet creation and validation when using Dreamweaver MX.
Note: TopStyle Pro is not included with Dreamweaver MX - it's a separate purchase available only through our online store.
Dreamweaver MX automatically detects TopStyle upon installation and makes it the external editor for style sheets, but you will need to tell Dreamweaver MX to use TopStyle for editing inline styles. To do this, right-click in the "CSS Styles" panel and place a checkmark next to the "Use External Editor" item.
If you install TopStyle Pro after installing Dreamweaver MX, simply open TopStyle's options and click the "Enable Dreamweaver Integration" button on the Third Party page. If you're using a version of TopStyle prior to 2.51, you'll need to manually make TopStyle the external CSS editor in Dreamweaver MX. To do this, go to "File Types / Editors" in Dreamweaver MX's preferences and add TopStyle Pro as the primary editor for CSS files.
Once the integration is fully enabled, the following features are available in Dreamweaver MX:
Note: If you're using Dreamweaver MX 2004 and the integration with TopStyle isn't working, you may need to go to
the "File Types/Editors" page in DMX's Preferences then remove .CSS from the "Open in code view" list.
